IMPULSIVE SNACK SAVING POUCHES
The inspiration for this work is impulsive shopping: snacks. I have very little self-control when it comes to craving for foods. Furthermore, my definition of a ‘snack’ includes anything that is a food break. The original intention for the work was polychromatic printing illustrations of the snacks, however, this was not time efficient. I also noticed I gravitate towards certain foods. Selecting from a top twenty of my most frequent snacks, I then created multiples of each filling up to 100 multiples of snacks.
In reflection, these designed pouches stood as reminders of my snack cravings. They were coined to hold money that would be set aside for these snacks, or alternatively, it can be for accumulating savings from not spending change on these snacks. Regardless of how I will take these on, I am hoping to spread the idea through selling these pouches for people to hold money or other small objects in (such as lipstick, tide-to-go, compacts, headphones, etc.). Although the pouches may not carry money for snacks, the snack designs will remind people of their food cravings, and in this way, the multifunctional use of the pouches will promote saving money.
